amazing value for money, really nice and smiling staff. Spotless place, clean rooms, comfy beds, good shower (no electric shower thanks God) 🙂 Nice breakfast freshly prepared. very close to the main restaurants/pubs in Kinvara, 50 minutes from the Cliffs of Moher we'll definitively visit this place again.

Fun ticket-winning arcade for kids, more serious gambling casino for adults. Most kids games are €1 which is great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We spent time playing various coin dropping games and arcade shooters, as well as a fun VR simulator.

I vaguely remember I went to the Star Leisure for the first time with my school when I was about 10.

I've been there about many times. I used to find it entertaining when I was a kid and teenager but now I find it absolutely rubbish. That's why I don't go there anymore. It used to have a fast-food restaurant and the food was nice. It's a shame that they don't have a restaurant anymore. I don't know why they removed the restaurant from the same place. I kinda missed its old look. It can be real waste of money indeed.

I missed its old look and I missed the old days of visiting the Star Leisure as well.

On Sunday the 28th July 2024, it was my last time to visit the Star Leisure so I am not going there again ever.

It's a shame that Dawson's Amusements is now defunct and it has been replaced by car park after its demolition. I used to go to Dawson's when I was a kid and I used to go on the dodgems, ghost train and the roundabout ? as well. It closed down in 2006. Maybe they went into liquidation or there was a dwindling number of visitors. Anyway Dawson's wasn't great for myself either.

If you're reading this, avoid the Star Leisure. Go to Bray Bowl or Leisureplex instead.

The star leisure and casino used to be Star Amusements. It had a wide range of great old and new arcade games, snooker and pool hall upstairs and a restaurant. That has all changed. No arcade games, no pool hall or restaurant.

I had a great time while I was there and the machines were cheaper than I expected, it would be a great place for a family to spend a day without spending a fortune. But when I went to use the bathroom I was being charged 50c to use it. 50c isn't too bad but in a world where we all have bank cards and Google pay, we dont always have change. On top of that the machines you could take cash out of would only allow you to take out 1 euro at the least and the machine to use the bathroom would only take 50c. This completely ruined my experience here, people go in and spend plenty of money on the machines, why do you want to charge people to urinate? And they have signs everywhere saying your 50c goes to charity.... is it really such a good thing if you don't have a choice but to give it? In an economy where rent is the highest it's ever been, homelessness is at an all time high and inflation is sky rocketing by the day it seems, how can someone be so money hungry that they're charging people take a piss? Such a shame because before that I had such a good time but I won't be revisiting this establishment.

Lots of machines. If you like coin pushers, you can't find a better place. Right by the water front and surrounded by little shops and a sorry walk from one of the best chippers (fish and chip shop) in Ireland! Kids won a lot of toys and couldn't get enough of the machines, especially the ones that give you tickets and toys. Have enjoyed the place since I was a child and will definitely be returning again.

Of all the kids in there today not a single one won a teddy. Not even a keychain. Saw one of the guys testing the grabber and he set it so that it attempted to pick a teddy up but then dropped it halfway up. It's just so dishonest.
Just fyi it's 50 cent to use the toilet but that doesn't buy you a toilet seat on any of the toilets ?
