First trip. Went with a buddy and our two sons. Great experience. Car show was cool. Races were awesome and I’m not a car guy. Camping spots easy to find. Other guests, staff all really chill. All around a great entertainment value. Only downside was restaurant experience at Oak Tavern. Learned the hard way it’s not where you want to eat (see that review). Or it’s not where you don’t want to eat. Other than, great time. Will definitely be back.

First time here and of the many tracks I've been to this is the most beautiful! Very comfortable. Serene views. Super clean grounds to the showers. The food was delightful and the service was as well. Thank you!

Went with my father to the GT World Challenge series on Saturday. It was easy to find and traffic was non-existent driving from up north. Upon arriving the front gate was cheerful and helpful. We had mobile tickets that were scanned easily. Once there, parking was easy to find. It rained while we were there and bring an umbrella if it’s in the forecast but there are overhangs for shelter. Food was pricey but that’s expected at any event venue. Planning on going to more events at VIR.

Favorite track! Only complaint is how campers/motor homes are roping off right up to fencing restricting spectator area. Clean bathrooms and friendly workers. GREAT racing!

IMSA racing at this track was an incredible experience!! Even the drivers say this track is incredible. The views of the track were the best I've experienced. I thought Limerock Park in Connecticut was awesome until I went to VIR. Probably the BEST time I've had in a really long time.

VIR is undoubtedly one of the best racetracks in the U.S. – a world-class facility with an exceptional layout that offers a challenging and thrilling experience for drivers. The flow of the track, elevation changes, and scenic surroundings make it a must-visit for any motorsport enthusiast. Whether you're racing, spectating, or attending an event, the track itself lives up to the hype.

However, there are a few areas where VIR could improve the overall experience. One major inconvenience I encountered was with food. They make it difficult to order from outside services like DoorDash – I had food delivered, but it was stopped at the gate and not allowed through. With the cafeteria closed, it left me scrambling to figure out how to get food, which was frustrating.

Another issue is the cost associated with overnight stays. If you plan to sleep in your own RV, trailer, or even your car, be aware that it comes with additional fees, which seems excessive for bringing your own setup. On top of that, the RV connections are limited, so there may not be enough outlets for everyone needing power.

Lastly, if you bring any type of scooter, golf cart, or four-wheeler to get around the facility, VIR requires you to purchase a yearly pass, even if you only need it for a short stay. This policy feels a bit unreasonable and could discourage guests from bringing their own transportation.

Despite these hiccups, VIR is still an incredible destination for motorsport events. The track’s design and overall atmosphere make it a standout experience, but better food options, fewer overnight charges, and more flexibility with personal transportation would go a long way in making it perfect. Plan accordingly, and you'll still have a fantastic time at this iconic track!

VIR is my favorite racing circuit on the East Coast! It's a little slice of heaven for car enthusiasts and track rats alike. The only track I've driven that compares is a bit longer and in Germany! If you are thinking of visiting VIR for a track day, an event, to watch a race, just go. You will not be disappointed. The grounds are beautiful, if a bit rustic, but the paddock is nice and there are many good viewing spots if you're not here to drive. The annual IMSA race (usually all GTs) is a good event, probably the biggest turn out of the year. I look forward to my next HPDE here!
