We own a South facing home with many windows. When we bought it, we put in low end horizontal blinds. They were fine, but my wife really didn't like them and over the years they deteriorated. We have looked in to replacing our older single pane aluminum windows and we never did because of the price and just the inconvenience. I also think the windows we have are in pretty good shape for their age, so I looked in to tinting them. This was mainly because our home would get hot and we would have to run the AC. I know a lot of people are getting solar panels, however I personally think you can save energy with out the expense and hassle of solar panels as well, so we got a quote from the owner of the company. He measured all our windows and brought samples of the different colors and light filtering options he had. We opted to use two different colors for different windows. They scheduled the install and did all our windows in one day. They even took down our old blinds and disposed of them for us. My wife is very happy and our home now has less glare and we do not need to have any window coverings now which give us a great view. I am writing this review now because it is a hot and bright day outside now and I am so glad we installed window film before the summer. I am expecting our cooling bills will be less due to the need to not run our AC as much.
