Love the vibe and also how all the games are organized. The staff recommendation stickers are also really helpful. We stayed a few hours to play games and I wish the board game stores back home were like this. I also loved their library of games to play from and their upstairs section of preloved games.

Pros:
-Great selection of games, good amount of weekly events and tcg support.
-Good store credit/points system. Probably the best in Seattle.
-Friendly staff

Cons:
-Terrible arrangement for event hosting.. Space is small and cramped, poorly arranged. Fills up quickly and leaves a lot to be desired.
-Hit-or-miss on how knowledgeable/capable staff are. Some can pull orders on the spot, others cannot.
-Minimal parking, off the beaten path.

My nerdy husband loves board games so I found this place and visited during this trip. In S.Korea the playing places are common, but offline stores are rare. I love that people in that area have this kind of warm and playful place. He is not very good at English, but he talked to staff and understood which I didn’t. 🤣🤣 lovely overall.

We flew in from out of state and forgot our travel backgammon-popped in here to see what we could find and are so thankful we did!!! The staff was so enthusiastic and helpful in our quest to find a fun, portable game. Every time we tried to leave after purchasing our new games, we got distracted by all the fun games and puzzles. Such a sweet find!!

I love Blue Highway!! Been in a few times to utilize the game library and staff are friendly and enthusiastic about helping us find the right game no matter how vague or silly our requests are - “something with cute little pieces and fast to learn” or “something that will make us laugh but also use strategy but also can be played in under 30 minutes” or even “we like cats. what do you have with cats”.

They really do have something for everyone, and it’s so nice to have a spot in the neighborhood that’s open well into the evening where you can do something other than spend money and drink! (Although they do have a small selection of beers and sodas at the counter!) most of the times we’ve stopped by have been weekend evenings and it’s never too crowded despite the array of event they host. I try to always leave a tip because having access to their fantastic library, cozy atmosphere, and welcoming staff *for free* is TOO MUCH!

Blue Highway has brought back the joy of real world games for me! And if you, like me, have a limited budget but hunger for games to furnish your home after sampling from the library, the loft has a nice selection of discounted secondhand games. I can’t say enough good things about Blue Highway. We are very lucky to have a great small business (yay third places!!) like this in Queen Anne 💙
