My husband and I closed on our 1st home on 8/30/24. We had Dave Neic as our realtor. As a disclaimer, Dave is a really nice guy, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1; just a little unprofessional. The very first house showing my husband and I went to, Dave stated that he had an emergency with family and needed to take a call. And of course, we were empathetic and said "oh yeah cool we understand." But these "emergencies" continued to happen during each showing and even at our final walk through. What REALLY made me upset and caused me to write this review is the way he handled closing. He was 1st unaware that we had chosen and closing date/time. During the final walkthrough I asked if he would be present at the day of closing and would get the keys same day and he said "yes I usually come to the closing and according to the paperwork you get keys after you sign." Day of closing comes, no Dave. I text him, his response: "Awesome, news. I'm sorry I'm stuck at the shop still. but once it records I will be able to meet you guys for keys! Congratulations." He did not call us ahead of time to let us know he would not be here, NOTHING! I watched a lot of content preparing for purchasing my first home. And to say the least, I was VERY disappointed in my experience. I am grateful that my house closed and will be enjoying homeownership, but it also feels as though my husband and I were slighted because of age, race, and even what house we chose. I can guarantee that if we were purchasing a $300k house in Howland and/or Cortland that we would have had the red carpet rolled out for us. But because we chose a $100 house in Youngstown we were treated poorly.
