What a scam. I was excited to trade cards at a shop for the first time and after they looked over what I brought in and showed me listing's that didn't make a ton of sense. I gave into the offer against my better judgement and gave them 2 chilling reign ETB's and a V Memories collection box, for a total of 55$, even after mentioning I thought they were worth a bit more and was hoping for closer to $100 for the ETBs knowing they'd be selling them for more than that for each.
They immediately put the V box up for 300$ and each ETB for 170$. So I didn't even get 10% of the price they were going to turn them for. These people are worse than scalpers in my mind at this point. I had hoped working with owners of a place like this, there would be some mutual respect or something, but they just saw a gold mine for themselves in the items I had collected.
Once again, I got $55 for $640 worth of products, or 8.5%. SCAM. I will never trade with a card store again.

First I want to point out that this is a great store with really friendly employees.

However I simply cannot condone the insane mark-up on Pokemon Boosters here.
For context I spent around $76 on four packs, two Prismatic Evolutions and four Surging Sparks packs.
Than I went to Fred Meyer and spent almost the exact same amount on not only the Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box (which at CCG is currently selling just under $200), but also the Sticker Collection, they were selling at the price set by The Pokemon Company.

So in all, for the price I spent here for four boosters, I got a total of twelve boosters PLUS paraphernalia at a retail seller.
It saddens me to leave this review because I love trying to support local game shops instead of bigger retailers, but that kind of mark-up is astronomical and I cannot in good conscious recommend this store at it's present state to any fellow Pokemon collectors, and will in the future just wait until I see more in stock at retailers.

$3 draft packs/ $4 set packs Mtg at Super Sports Cards, less then a minute away from this location. $5 packs of current standard sets and most commander decks start at $40. Smaller singles selection but affordable and allows customers to sort through cards.
No awkward politics, just normal business decisions. Pretty soon to start organized wizard events. Sometimes worry about leaving vehicle in parking lot with methadone clinic across the street. Many addicts smoking pills in the parking lot and crowding the cul de sac with campers. This hobby is hard to afford , must find those that entice to value the customer.

I really like this store to browse, and the employees are really friendly. However, prices are borderline scalper prices. I’ve been to every card store in the area and these prices are far higher than ANYWHERE else I’ve been, Vancouver and Portland alike. Prismatic evolutions is highly sought after, there is no denying that, and i understand a business needs to make money to keep the doors open and I totally respect that. However, charging $50 for a mini tin that costs $10 retail AND is still in print is insane in my opinion. Other shops in Vancouver are charging $25-$35 tops for the same product. I just can’t justify shopping here when there are other shops nearby that aren’t charging a 200% markup.

I use to come here all the time in the past. I recently brought my kid here to look at pokemon cards, and their boxes are at or above scalped prices. Showing them prices online from Walmart/Target/Amazon/TCG world was not acceptable.

They had some strange and unusual excuses for using scalped prices. The reason we came here is because we trusted them to have correct and fair prices. This experience was a horrific waste of time, and I am very sad to see what they have become with these disgusting practices.

I edited this review as I was pretty hot at the time of writing it. I do not believe in using scalped prices from any business, especially when that business is a merchant of the specific items we're looking for. We expect MSRP just like all other stores, or a minimal mark up. Not "if we notice some items are hot sales that drives out price up" amongst the other unusual justifications as to why some of the pokemon items are marked up as much as 10x MSRP.

That being said, the store is nice, it's a large area, and where as I haven't done any drafts at the new location, I did quite a few at the old location. I will admit that the events and game nights are solid. However I am still very turned off by the scalping prices and that was enough to make us not want to return, or partake in any events at this location.

Marking up single rare cards or asking for higher prices for single rare cards is one thing, but scalping MSRP prices for boxes and sets is...it's gross.

I was tempted to file a solid complaint with the BBB for fraud and scams to warn other potential customers about the practices here with scalping MSRP prices, and they have an option to allow them to speak to the media, however I do understand that this establishment is more than just a shop. It's a home for tabletop gamers to come together and enjoy. That is not something, I want to see jeopardized. Ladies and gentleman of the staff, you have to do better about your pricing criteria. The prices you ask are just outlandish. We were wondering how you had so much stock of popular items that get bought at MSRP from local super stores, and now we know why.

So I respectfully ask, and borderline beg you, to please do better. Scalping is a frowned upon practice and a business killer. It gives a bad reputation, as expressed in other recent reviews, as well as past reviews dating back two years. This is not the reputation a solid game store should hold.

I have faith that you can do better.

(Note this is only in respect to recent and readily available boxes, etbs, and starter decks. Products that are out of circulation, out of print and no longer available at MSRP are excluded from the review.)

The electronic Pokemon card vendors we see at other stores are considered MSRP prices without markups. Yes they may be sold out but that doesn't justify outrageous scalping markups on newer sets, or sets still in circulation.

I hope that CCG House and customers find this review useful, and proper action is taken.

Great customer service. The cards are in great condition. I bought a nice Gengar card!! The guy that helped me really knew his stuff and I feel like I got a fair deal for my card.

Great little game store, not a lot of stuff for sale but lots of tables to game at which is awesome because Vancouver doesn't have many places to play games.

Wow what a waste of time, nothing at all is msrp. Even the penny sleeves are marked up to $5, consistently the worst tcg shop in Vancouver year in and year out.
