Golden State Seismic and Structural

We can’t recommend Golden State Seismic + Structural enough. We are first time homeowners whose new house needed a complete foundation replacement and drainage system. Naturally, this was an intimidating project for us, but Brian, Holly, Luis (the foreman) and the rest of the team made us feel like we were in good hands the whole time. They answered all of our questions, patiently dealt with a few issues with our neighbors, and were incredibly communicative via text/phone/email throughout the process. Plus, when the project was done (on time!), they left the yard in great shape and even did a few repairs inside that were a natural result of the project. We can only hope that any contractors we work with for future projects are as detail-oriented, kind, and communicative as Brian and team. Thank you!

Golden State Seismic did an extensive earthquake retrofit of our home, that included pouring several new sections of foundation. From start to finish, Brian, his wife Holly, and all of his crew led by Luis were fantastic. From the start, his responsiveness to all inquiries was nearly immediate. His bid was extremely competitive and the work was done efficiently. His crew cleaned up every day, and left the house spotless when all work was complete. He handled all aspects of the CA Brace and Bolt program, including uploading, plans, photos and receipts.

Brian gave us a great bid, referrals from previous customers, and helped us with the brace and bolt rebate at a time when we were overwhelmed as new parents and homeowners. He works with a timely, professional team, and communicating with his wife and business partner Holly was a dream. Cannot recommend them enough. The difference in price from another company was staggering and we still felt like we got world class service.

Brian Bouchard gave a competitive bid on our seismic upgrade project. His team completed the project as promised efficiently and on time as originally agreed. Mike did a great job with an earthquake brace and bolt retrofit on our house. He did the work while we were out of town and was super knowledgeable with navigating the city permitting system. The city inspector even told us candidly that we picked a great contractor for the work. There was a small mistake with the wiring that we found when we returned home, and Mike followed up right away with sending out an electrician and fixing the problem. Highly recommend!

Brian Bouchard is great to work with, an excellent communicator and reliable. He did our seismic retrofit this year. The paperwork for various incentives (EBB and Berkeley transfer tax) was occasionally tricky, but Brian stuck it out with us, patiently pushing it through the bureaucracy. We're very pleased with the results and happy to have more security against future earthquakes, instead of paying for dubious value earthquake insurance. We're recommending him to anyone who asks.

Although I didn't get to work with Brian and the team at Golden State Seismic and Structural because they don't service SF, Brian was super kind and helpful and even offered me a recommendation for a colleague who works in SF.

Brian and his entire team (from the back office to the guys on site) are all the things that most contractors are not: on time, great at communication (always available, always replies within minutes), professional, and easy to work with. Our retrofit was on time, on budget, and the construction quality was excellent. He shows up when he says he will, and gives no nonsense accurate timelines. I would be happy to work with Brian on any future retrofit needs, and will happily recommend him to anyone looking for retrofit work. We used the EBB program and Brian is very familiar with the program and all the details (trust me, there are many) associated with EBB. Many of the contractors I spoke with, were unwilling to work with EBB. He also uploaded all documents to EBB making the process as painless as possible. He's also very fair and honest. His initial bid called for two gas shutoff valves (we have two gas lines), later he saw that we already had one installed and brought it to my attention and removed the charge. We were considering doing an additional remodel (outside of the scope of this retrofit) and Brian was able to communicate with the engineer for that project to ensure the work he was doing would not impede our future renovation plans. He did this at no cost, and it got taken care of in one day, as he is always on top of communication. Full service with a smile. 5 stars 10/10, etc. On top of all that he also had the lowest bid (I got around 5 bids). He's the guy, just call him already.
