Overall the store was neatly organized, all of the cartridge games were shrink wrapped and looked to be of nice quality. Has a wide selection of old games to browse, which is great for people looking to expand their game collection.

The only issue was that the gentleman working behind the counter at the time we went had a very dismissive attitude when we asked for help finding a specific item. Some of the prices can also be a bit on the high side compared to established used game retailers such as Disk Replay, but that is the price you have to pay sometimes to have more variety in the used video games market.

You may just be able to find what you want here, their selection is great! Unfortunately, we didn't find what we came in for though.

This store is fantastic and has an excellent selection of games for all platforms! The owners definitely know about video game repair and system service. I think the bad reviews come from people who do not know how much work it takes to fix or repair a game system and expect the system/games they bought at a yard sale to work perfectly or be worth lots of trade in money. I found both the owners to be very pleasant and easy to talk to. I will shop at and recommend this store in the future!

I can't help but laugh at all the people comparing the like-new quality games found in this store to the cheapest price they can find for some scratched up, disc only game on eBay and complaining about it. Don't listen to them. This store is amazing, and the owners are nice. If you compare the prices to a game in SIMILAR CONDITION online, you will find their prices are usually pretty spot on. If you're looking for classic, collectible video games in very good condition, and you're willing to pay what that costs, this is the best place to go. If you want a beat up game with no manual, stick to eBay.

The store is clean and organized. The sales lady was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I thought the prices were just right especially considering all the used games are super cleaned, unscratched, and tested to work before they are sold. I had rotten luck on eBay, you never know if what you purchase is going to work. Overall a great store!

The store is clean and well organized.
The owners could not have been nicer. They were not intrusive at all, though I did have the distinct feeling of being watched.
The prices on cartridge games are a little high, but I think it is worth it to know that it was cleaned and tested.
I will definitely shop here again.

I don't live in Detroit, Michigan and I came into the Mind Games store the people asked me if I needed help and I was given the best customer service I've ever gotten because they are absolutely exceptional because the owners took the time to talk to me and my mom and even took the time to show me how the Atari 5200 and the Atari 7800 worked in the back of the store and even made time to personally take the boxes of my consoles to a shipping place so be shipped out to another state which was absolutely awesome. Plus the owners take time to get to know you ask what games you are looking for. The owners are fantastic. If I could give Mind Games video games store higher than a 5 star I'd give them the perfect ratings because they deserve it due to them being absolutely honest and wonderful!😎😀

Owners will talk to you about games and what they do, as far as restoring everything; ask them about their personal favorite games, too. The man is not mean, he is just older - know how to talk to him and he is pleasant (enough).
They have a truly great selection of titles, from nearly all systems (Even master system). All games are clean, scratch free, and have new save batteries in the cartridges.
As many will say, the pricing is starting to get a little too expensive. I understand things are repaired and cleaned, but it seems as though ALL of the pricing is determined by the higher prices on ebay's 'buy it now' listings, rather than true "book" value of the games. Sometimes, this is fair, for collections or boxed games.
I used to like to go and look....but I cant justify, say, $30 on Pokemon Silver. I would love it if some games were left uncleaned with an add-on $ service tag attached, for batteries, scratch removal etc.
Still, WAY better pricing, service, and quality than you will find from the reseller kiosk at Gibraltar Trade center...you know which one I mean, if youre in the area...
Also, if you are in the market for a retro system and do not have the knowledge or means to replace parts yourself, this IS the place to buy them. Consoles get the same treatment as games, plus new pin connectors installed, a warranty, and whatever else you would want.
I still want to love this store and would be there WEEKLY, if games were priced differently.

I will certainly be back, nicest people running this throwback store. Welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and flat out good people. You normally don't see this kind of service anymore. Support this store. Next time I take my son to his grandma's I am taking him to check it out. I see people complaining about price... You are idiots. You get what you pay for. You get quality, tested no hassle games from these people. They even refurbish the games before they will even sell them to you. 20 bucks for a game 20+ years old is not ridiculous.
