Next Gen is my preferred card shop with good reason. I am here 1-2 times a week for different events.

The staff is very talkative and helpful. They always pay attention to you and have great suggestions.

The atmosphere is amazing. There are large tables in the back for Warhammer 40k or other miniature games. The tables for card games are clean and maintained. I hear that sometimes podcasts or small videos will film in the store because of how nice it is.

What is most appealing here is the regulars. You can talk to anybody and get a conversation going. People are willing to help you put together a deck, or give advice on how to draft. Absolutely the community that you want to be playing games with.

Friday Night Drafts are the best spots for people just getting into Magic.

They have a great Pokemon TCG selection and singles which is amazing for any kids who want to play.

I’ve been coming here on Sundays for all day commander for a few weeks now and it’s so fun.
The people who show up are open to teaching while playing a few games, games can go on until 6pm or later.
As for staff they’re all so laid back and helpful, and will sometimes attend Sunday commander.
All friendly and knowledgeable in the game, no gatekeeping and will show you the ropes, will help with any questions you have regarding packs, building, commander pre-cons or the like.
The biggest part in coming here is, just ask!
You’ll end up falling in love with the game, making friends and having fun playing and meeting with new people.
They also have a discord which I recommend joining incase of any card games you’re into, or dnd as well.

The shop was nice. They had a underground parking structure. There shop was properly ventilated and the people running the shop were nice. Our Long Beach team "The Mad Hatters" had a fun time at the Lorcana championship. One of our team mates Jenny aka Mrs. Punisher. Was representing us and we were there playing and at the end cheering her on. She didn't make top 4 but she is a champ in our eyes. Thank you to the people running the shop today 4/28/2024. From The Mad Hatters .....

Really nice store, lots of different genres of games TTRPG, TCG, board games, and minis and lots of paints some citadel and also Vallejo brand colors and primers and brushes also. Went on a Sunday and noticed lots of people playing some mtg and yu gi oh also couple guys doing some Warhammer so it's definitely a popular place to chill.

Singles are very sparse on display for pokemon. One of the items even had damage on the card unbeknownst to the person helping me. Some of the prices were more than double the price they should be and others at just the price they're at. Magic has plenty of singles on display laid out across multiple cases, lots of products to choose from. Lots of tables, but they were all being used, so it was packed. Lots of tabletop items towards the back and even terrain items. They do charge tax on cash purchases, which is a little odd considering most places I've been to do not.

A welcoming game shop. I had a great experience playing an event here. I witnessed them fix pairings when needed, and didn't force anyone to take a loss.

Pretty underwhelming. Very few high-end Pokemon singles, I think I only saw one or two. Mostly lower-end stuff. Prices were also above market value. I was looking to spend, but just couldn’t find anything interesting. They still charge 10% for sales tax even when paying cash. Customer service wasn’t too friendly. As much as I wanted to like this place, it’s not for me. Hopefully they update their inventory and align more with market rates.
