I will be forever grateful I hired Sam Hall for our legal needs. When I first reached out to his office, I was asked who I would like to speak with, I told them Sam, and they put me through to him. I got his voicemail as he was in court. Sam (not a secretary or office support staff) returned my call the same day. To me, that alone shows he cares about his clients. After weeks of back-and-forth with Blue Ridge Developments over a disputed deposit, I was finally referred to Sam Hall—only to be met with more of the same: no accountability, no resolution, and no urgency.

Despite this being the first time I was told to contact him, Sam was clearly aware of the situation. Rather than addressing the issue or providing any clarity, he immediately deflected responsibility. It was clear he was brought in not to resolve the problem, but to delay and distance the company from doing the right thing.

I had a recent interaction with attorney Samuel G. Hall, who was representing a contractor I hired. He accused me of breaching a contract—even though the contractor had sent a different version of the agreement that I never agreed to or signed.

Mr. Hall claimed that 50% of the work was completed, which did not match the photo evidence I provided. When I asked for a breakdown of the work performed and the charges, he refused, reportedly saying, “I’m not doing that.” He also refused to have the contractor provide that breakdown. I found this confusing—if a breakdown would eventually be required in court, why not share it now with the consumer?

Additionally, Mr. Hall told me what the judge would supposedly say if we went to court. While attorneys can give legal opinions, definitively stating what a judge will rule can be misleading, especially when presented as fact.

According to ABA Model Rule 7.1, attorneys are prohibited from making false or misleading statements that create unjustified expectations about legal outcomes.

In my view, being denied basic information about what I was being charged for, and being pressured with speculative legal outcomes, was unprofessional and troubling.

Again, this is based on my personal experience, and others may have different interactions, but I believe it’s important to share.
