Beware of engaging Second Order Effects. They provide horrible customer service

We came with an urgent project to Dennis and Augustine, that required engineering. We ironed out the major details of costs, and stages, and after signing an NDA, I sent them all the materials.

I never heard back from them. Days passed, and when I sent Dennis an email to see if they reviewed the materials and what are the next steps, I got a response that they are busy, have not found the time to review the material and that I will get a call. The call never came.

After a few more days, I sent another email, then got a response from Augustine that Dennis is traveling on business, and that they are waiting for our documentation which was sent to him a week before.

When I responded that I was upset about it, and we need to see a timeline, and get a serious response from them, I got a response that they are very busy and will not be able to do the work, but they will help us find someone else to do it. Within few days later, I got another email that they did not find anyone and they wish us "good luck with our project".

I have never written a bad review on a business before, but their careless treatment of us justifies it. A complete waste of time on a group of amateurs. I can only imagine the quality of their engineering work, if their customer service work is so poor.

Highly Recommend!! We have worked with SO Effects a number of times on both mediums sized and small projects. I am impressed with their responsiveness from the owners right down to the engineers. As a successful consultancy, they are sometimes not available to work on projects (which is strangely reassuring) but each time they have given us alternatives and recommendations (something that most consultancies are loathed to do). They have a broad skillset and are extremely flexible. I will continue to work with them both in this company and any future ventures.
