Have you ever had breakfast with Jon H.? Let me paint you a picture of how it goes:

Joyce: I could really use some butter for my rye toast.
Jon H.: *hoarding the butter, seemingly not hearing Joyce*
Joyce: *eating an unsatisfying piece of toast with only jelly, still complaining about the lack of butter*
Jon H.: *generously slathering butter onto his pancakes while humming Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!"*

Breakfast in Maricopa? Why not! After a quick drive over the mountains and through the woods, we met up at this cute place on a golf course for breakfast. I ordered the Maricopa Omelet which has cheese, ham, and green hatch chiles in it. It was also served with some homestyle potatoes and some toast. It was a great breakfast and the weather was even nice enough to dine al fresco with a view of the golf course lake. So many cute ducks and geese wandered about and our waitress, Jill, kept the coffee mugs filled.

It's a great spot! I can see this place being enjoyed by the community and residents in Maricopa. Get some good eats here at The Duke!

Booked this course for a bachelor party, had a last minute addition to make it 5 guys instead of 4 and the guy in the pro shop was extremely understanding and accommodated the change. Course is in great condition, each hole is challenging in its own way. The bunker sand is soft and light. Course has an awesome spur logo and they sell hats with them on it in the pro shop. Highly recommend playing this course, it’s absolutely worth the drive from Phoenix.

I don't golf frequently, but traveled to Scottsdale with a group of 4 other guys to attend the WM Open. The other 4 guys played at Rancho Manana on 2/6/25 while I went on a hike north of Cave Creek, but The Duke was willing to accommodate a 5th golfer. Our group plays fast, so pace of play was not an issue. The course was in good shape and I was impressed by the greens. Staff were nice and I felt like the overall experience was a good value for the cost. I'd definitely play there again.

Great course layout, great challenge for any level but still forgiving enough for a hacker like me. Staff was great and accommodating. Can't say enough good things. Might consider getting a patron card for next year just to make sure we get early tee times. AND...the 19th hole is damn fine. Great selection of beers and first rate food. Wondering if I can get one more round in before our flight leaves...?

Had dinner unfortunately it was not good at all. They changed the battery on the fish fry. It is terrible, could hardly find the fish. The frys tasted like they were made yesterday and the coleslaw was warm. Plus we waited almost an hour for the food. Should have sent it back but just wanted to leave. Won't be back.

We ate there last Friday and ordered one of the fried fish fries and the baked fish for lunch and they were both excellent! The servers were top-notch and very kind! We follow their cart girl on TikTok for all of her wonderful drink concoctions!

Haven’t played here in over 6 years, glad our group was able to play this past Saturday. Overall, the course is in great shape, fairways were nice and greens ran very true. Service was excellent and food really good.

*** What bothered me the most, this has nothing to do with the course or staff, is the golfers at this course. If you’re too lazy to fix your ball marks, you shouldn’t play. I fixed mine and many others on most of the greens. Golfers are quick to complain about conditions, yet are 90% of the cause. FIX YOUR BALL MARKS PEOPLE. It’s really easy to do.

I lowered my original review to 3 stars.
The main reason was lack of timely table service by our waiter (only waiter I saw). He was busting his ass butt, but there were just too many tables to service. He was apologetic. In past visits, this had not happened.
The food coming out was good , but it was not very timely, which made me think that the kitchen was understaffed. Our golfing guest was disappointed.
