They are creepy . Tom west sent a man into my leased property to take pictures inside of my windows . I do not owe money and have been a great tenant. After I reported the problem they sent the man back to my paid in full rented property when I had already asked them not to ever do than again …. This company is scary and creepy .. do not rent from them

After renting one of Tom West's properties for 2 years, I can say I've had a great experience overall. They made it very easy to go look at any of their properties initially and were quick to get everything situated with a lease, especially since I was out of state at the time. I found a wonderful little home that was a little older, but anything that came up was handled promptly with good communication. Alyson and Tabitha both have always been nothing but helpful and friendly throughout my 2 years. Really appreciate them and would rent from them again in the future!

My husband and I have been renting with Tom West since March of 2016. From the beginning, the women that work there were very short and snooty with us, especially a young girl that worked at the front at the desk with short brown hair. Her nose was so far in the air, I don't even know if she knew what earth looked like. I got the vibe of "I'm better than you". No one is better than anyone no matter how much money you make, or what you wear, or what you do for a living. We haven't really had that many issues except a few. First of all, we own a dog. A well trained amazing dog. When we saw the house at first, the carpet was terrible. There was a huge black stain on the carpet in the living room and it was coming up at the seams in some places. You could tell the carpet was cheap and old and quite frankly plain nasty. They (owners/tom west) refused to replace the carpet because we had a dog. Also, the kitchen tile was terrible and in some places of the house, you could tell needed to be replaced. Second, We called Tom West a couple months back about a bed bug infestation. When we moved in, we had noticed little bugs a few places, but in the lease agreement, it stated we were to take care of pest control, not realizing they were bed bugs. We did not have bed bugs at our apartment and had verification from the previous landlord. We never called until about a year later when we couldn't get rid of them and they refused to pay to get them removed after we had tried just about everything. Its laughable now because we are moving out and they are still going to have to pay to remove them. Also, in the moving out procedures, you have to pay to get the carpet cleaned. They want me to have that cheap, stained carpet to get professionally clean knowing they are probably going to remove it anyways. We brought our newborn into this home thinking this could be our home for a bit, and now we are moving out 7 months later because it's just what's best. Over all, I would say the company is ok, but pick them last if you have to. When I rent again, they will be last on my list of companies to go through just mainly because of customer service and not taking care of their customers the way it should be and maybe it has a lot to do with the owners of the property as well in which case they need to be realistic as well.

Tom West is probably one of, if not, the biggest company in the Dothan area when it comes to renting or buying homes in the area. For starters the customer service in the main office is by far the WORST I have ever dealt with. Everyone is short and snobby especially the females that work at the front desk. I was renting one of their properties for close to 5 years. I travel a lot with my job and that was the only reason I stayed there so long. When I moved in I immediately had issues with things that were suppose to be done but wasn't. Had issues with things breaking and not working properly. It took forever to get some one out to take care of the issues. Then I move out and I have to get the carpets cleaned and provide a receipt only to be told that the carpets weren't good enough and they would have to have the company they use to come out and clean it again and charge it to me. They will not do a walkthrough inspection with the tenant before moving out. Then as I expected, my $575 security deposit is taken for painting the townhouse, so called repairs and cleaning. I paid to have the place cleaned as well but they have no plans on returning your security deposit. They make up whatever they can with no explanation. Just a horrible company to work with and I would NEVER recommend to anyone..Avoid at all cost. I notice all the 1 star reviews with the one 5 star review...that had to be a mistake!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!!!!

I've never been so upset at one company in my entire life. I rented a home that was left in wonderful condition! 1 small repair and 1 blind was all that I had trouble taking care of before I left. I asked the front clerk the day I was turning my keys in if I could purchase a new pair of blinds and drop them off or even borrow the key to replace them myself because I wanted to do the right thing... she so RUDELY told me she would have to charge me another day. As a customer coming to you and WANTING to do the right thing, I was beyond upset to know this was so rudely handled. My security deposit that was mailed to me is literally NOT EVEN a quarter of what I paid up front because of the "repairs & blinds installment" I was charged for. I will never ever again deal with this scam company who rips people off and so rudely present themselves to their customers. I also will never recommend them. If you pay a security deposit with them and leave them with a decent home as when you moved in, don't expect your deposit back. They will find "repairs" to get you with. Completely & utterly disgusted with this company. Worst in Dothan.

After being a tenant with Tom West Company for one year, I am very dissatisfied with attention to renters, communication, and property upkeep. Of all realtor companies in the Wiregrass, Tom West seemed to be very reputable. After being a tenant for an entire year I no longer find that the case. Unfortunately, I was in a temporary predicament around the after math of hurricane Michael.We found only one property though TWC with enough square footage for our family; however, after approval & upon inspection it was very unkempt. I reported the state of the household to TWC and the multitude of repairs after the deposit was made under the impression something would have been done to clean and repair the household in order to live accordingly with our three children. We moved in the property close to 1000 dollars a month plus deposit without a refrigerator which we graciously supplied, a non working oven for two months we also eventually supplied, a non working dishwasher filled with stagnant black water and mold infested dishes we were told to not only drain somehow but remove ourselves as the maintenance would not. After four pages of repairs reported and 75 pictures printed out and handed into TWC, the property owner eventually replaced the dishwasher and made minor repairs to the house hold leaving a majority of the list unattended to. We reported non working locks on the four entrances to the house with only one working key, large limbs on the rooftop, missing garage door remote we never received the entire time, the plumbing did not work in the master bathroom, water damage was in several places of the cabinets, air filters were layered with dust in both central units, prior tenant personal products were left in the bathrooms, in the kitchen a peel and stick back-splash was non adherent to the wall near the stove top secondary to a multitude of cockroaches being stuck behind the tiles, the floor in the kitchen was unsanitary, the walls and cabinets were covered in what seemed like permanent layers of dirt, grime, and grease, hardware was missing on the cabinets, the stove top burners did not function properly, insect limbs fell from the over the range hood, and there was an active infestation of carpenter ants in the fireplace. After almost two months time, it became clear we needed to do something ourselves in order for our children to live in a healthy household as we could not cook an at home meal in an unsanitary kitchen with a repulsive odor from the dishwasher, non working burners, no oven, and insects surrounding our cooking spaces on every aspect. On our own dime, we replaced the backsplash in the entire kitchen, added a microwave above the stove with an over the range vent we left free of charge at the property for the next tenant, supplied our own wall oven, cleaned and painted the walls and cabinets as well as bought brand new hardware for all 34 drawers and cabinet doors, replaced the entire kitchen floor with brand new tile as well as the downstairs entry way, laundry room, and 3rd half bathroom with the same tile due to the carpet being so filthy and worn there was resemblance to black mold on the flooring material. We also replaced two fixtures with ceiling fans in two of the four bedrooms, cleaned the carpets professionally every 6 months, repaired the steps on the back patio, pest control, & cleaned soot & insect filled fireplace. We cleaned the entire household top to bottom, including raking and mowing the very large, tree filled backyard, pressure washing the garage and driveway, trimming the bushes, professionally cleaning the carpets, and replacing filters in both of the ac units. We left extra filters for 2 months, the microwave, oven, & extra paint. We were given a reduced deposit by almost $300 after endlessly cleaning the house and have since been blatantly ignored. I would not recommend renting, it seems they care for no cause but their own cause of ease and pelf. Allie(front desk) is pleasant & professional.For the record, my review is significantly less due to allowed characters.
