December 2024

We were so excited to revisit this location after 2 years. Unfortunately, the Asian grocery aisles were reduced. I guessed stiff competition from too many nearby grocery store. The Asian selection was greatly reduced. It used to carried some very unique Asian brand.

Kind of disappointed with our visit.

A giant Walmart in Richmond. Great selection and spacious aisles. Covered underground parking and many restaurants and stores in the area.

I find the whole supermarket a bit too dimly lit, to the point that the whole atmosphere looks kinda old. This is not my usual grocery shopping stop, but I came for these Tortina cookies that I cannot find elsewhere!!

Just shopped earlier at this location, bought some groceries and one face cleaner of under $10. The cosmetic section at this location HAD a counter which customer paid the cosmetic first. That counter was removed and things were locked up. I had to go back to pick up the face cleaner after I finished my groceries shopping. This is 1st thing I don't like it. 2nd thing is the staff took the face cleaner and "kind of lead me to the counter" and then put it into my shopping cart. This way, just to ensure it will be paid. I don't like the way Walmart treated me. The staff said" sorry, I just did what I was told. There are lots of crime." I told her to talk to her manager that it doesn't make sense Walmart treated the customer that way.

Be cautious when purchasing produce from Walmart. They have a tendency to mislabel the origin of their produce items, which can be misleading for consumers looking for specific quality or sourcing information. Always double-check the labels and, if possible, verify with store staff to ensure you are getting what you intend to buy.

The rotisserie chicken used to come in a container with a small paper Handle because it is extremely hot. Now the price of chicken has gone up and there aren't any handles anymore.
I came to Walmart today because I needed some stuff. I noticed that their prices have gone up and now it's more expensive than save-on and freshco. I got a few things, but when I came to pay, I saw the lineup was all the way to the end of the store. I just put my stuff away and went to a different store.

I haven't been here for a while, but when I walked in, I noticed that most of the cashiers were gone, It's all self-checkout. I just needed Pop-tarts. When I went to the self-checkout to pay, I noticed that all the checkouts were broken except 2. I feel bad that the cashiers are being replaced by self-checkouts

They run out of stock easily... They don't refill the shelves. They charge for thin plastic bags that break so easily. The washrooms are filthy, and not even that they let beggars with huge signs inside of the store without doing anything about it.
After a while, I went to Walmart, and the stuff needed to be out of stock, and the prices were way more expensive than fresco. And don't get me started with the security guard by the entrance, so many pissed off customers. He harasses everyone. But the other person by the door who greets you, Mr. Anker is a super nice guy. this creamer was only $2,97 at the fresco.

I entered the store with a purchase from another store. The greeter on the door asked about the box in my cart. I told them it was from a different store. They put a Walmart sticker on the box indicating that It was so I wouldn't be harassed on the way out. I did not purchase anything today and tried to leave. I was stopped and asked to see my receipt. I showed the receipt for the item from a different store. The greeter wanted me to go to customer service; which I refused to do. Has Walmart started checking receipts on the way out? If not I am not sure why I was singled out by the greeter. I have been shopping at this location for a number of years and have never had a problem before.

wanted a tension curtain rod, I looked online, the website said it was in stock. I could not order it online for pickup because of the $35 minimum so I bussed it from downtown Vancouver in the rain to get it. The staff were nice and tried very hard to find it but no luck. they suggested that I order 3 of them online to pick up at the store then return 2 of them, totally stupid and would involve another bus trip out. Seriously update your site or allow pickups under $35 such a stupid policy. I probably would have spent another $30-$40 while I was there picking up on groceries and lotions & potions. Home Depot will get my money this time and will avoid you for future purchases

On December 29th at 9pm, I exited the store after paying for a cart full of my things in the 12th lane where a cashier rightfully scanned all my items. I was handed the receipt after saying "No, I don't need one" but took it anyways. I gave it to my 2 year old son as he likes to throw them away in the trash can which is what he did. At the exit, I was stopped and asked to provide my receipt. I said "Sorry I don't have one, my son threw it out" and she said "Well we need to see the receipt before we let you leave" I said "Absolutely not, I will be leaving and going to my car now. You can't stop me from leaving" at this point the walmart employee stepped in front of my shopping cart holding it when I tried pushing forward and prevented me and my 2 year old from leaving the store. I kept stating how she is illegally detaining me and stopping my son from going home to sleep. She didnt care. She kept arguing and I kept telling her to call the police, she would NOT let me leave. She demanded I returned inside the store to go talk to management & pull up a receipt on the system (which would take SO long & there's no laws in place stating I have to do this for them) she said its store policy i comply with them and show them my receipt and accept detainment. I told her to get her manager and she finally did, all while looking back to make sure i didn't "run away") once the manager came.. i said "Call the police if you think I'm stealing, otherwise let me leave and take my child home" and he said "Go" and I immediately left but not without cussing out the employee for that unnecessary drama and scene she caused!

Disgusting behaviour on that Walmart greeters part. Seriously. Even if I was some bad criminal (i'm a mom in a cardigan and leggings lol) stealing a cart full of groceries & kid clothes, she doesn't get paid enough to physically stop someone from leaving. Had it come down to it, I would definitely use self defence to leave the store if she physically threatened myself or my child further or hurt us. I also was close to calling the police on her. She has no right to do what she did. I kept absolutely fear for myself and my baby.

I'd like an apology from Walmart and the employee to be terminated IMMEDIATELY.

I will be going to the news & Walmart head office.
