If I could give a no star review I 100% would! My daughter loved NVVA Virtual but because of my personal situation they have locked her account and was told that I need to request withdraw papers because she can no longer attend NVVA. The thing that is hard for me too understand is the fact that it is not because she is a bad student or that she didn't go to her classes no, its because I have a blown engine and am unable to take her in for MAP testing which some students are allowed to do virtually but for whatever reason my daughter is not allowed. The school did offer to give me bus passes to take her myself and my 3 special needs kids to get her to the test but I will need to find somewhere to wait for 2 to 3 hours while she tests. This school in my personal opinion is heartless and is very inconsiderate of students and their feelings. They are not here for the kids education and too me that is very sad! I hope one day the personal that was emailing me sees how this severely impacts a child's life! Thank you very much! (Yes I am aware this review is all over the place but I am fuming mad because of a phone call that I just had with another admin staff)

If i could give this 0 stars, I would.
I went to school here last year, and oh my god, it sucked. The white English teacher was very racist. I am not complaining because I didn't like learning, no, heavens no. I am - not to brag - smart. So I was given bad grades on my English assignments just because I was a Pacific Islander!
Of course, some teachers were nice. Best Math & Art/History/Science teachers ever! So supportive and possibly the only great things in this school.

The workload is too much. Every single day, there's a new topic. Every single day, there's a unit test. Are you serious?! At one school I attended, the workload was one topic a week! So much better than this online school.
The campus is also very trashy. Trash cans and 7-11 soda bottles litter the floor outside. The sofa that used to be outside was covered in vomit stains and pee stains! Good thing they took that out!
Basically, this school is not okay. Send your children somewhere else.

For anyone who’s had online schooling for middle school student at another place such as James Madison or even perhaps within your community you already know it’s different then sending your kid(s) away to a “traditional brick and mortar “ school. You will need to be present and parent your child.
The patents who think they don’t have to, it’s the kids who suffer. This school has been part of my oldest daughter advancement of her high school progression when she attended in her 8th grade year. It set the bar up high and made it easier for the transition into Liberty high school after she tried James Madison online with no staff willing to respond back in timely manner with her homework . This school is no cake walk. It will challenge both the learning coaches and the children. And that’s exactly what our children need to succeed in life. These teachers and staff members take pride in what they do and most of the teachers have solid life experiences that creates a enhanced learning environment for the children as a whole. Now, my oldest is a senior and she chose K12/ Virtual Academy versus going to Liberty High School. She held a 3.9 during the 2 1/2 years at Liberty. She did dance and did Art studies. But she felt like something was missing and she wanted a schedule that didn’t require 6:15 am bus rides ( if it showed up on time) and endure erratic behavior of other teenagers who lack parenting at their homes. Now, she’s got her little sister who used to dislike school excited about school for the first time in years. Sylvestri middle school says they don’t tolerate bullying- but their track records show otherwise. After a year long struggle with my youngest daughter be bullied by multiple children including being posted on a public hate related website and having her laptop busted up for a boy who thinks pushing kids around is acceptable, my youngest daughter who I placed in UFC fit had been training with professional mma trainers for two months had enough courage to push the boy back after making fun of her once again in public on the last week of the school year. No kicks or punches. Just pushed him back. The vice principal gave my daughter a suspension on her last day of school. Long story short, the boy, was “talked to” and nothing more. These are my WHYs for my two daughters.
So, For the “Karen’s “ you are right, this school may not be what you expected it to be.
Many will Continue to play the system for the early drop offs and chaos at over-crowded schools.
For the rest of us here. It’s not like. It is more school and less drama.

School was awful no help for kids staff doesn't care or teach. There system is no good daughter has communication issues and got no help or a counselor to talk with but 2 times what a joke. During covid no learning they just passed my daughter know covid kinda over now they throw all this work at her and no teaching. Teachers need to go to a class and learn online teaching. Would give a negative if I could don't deserve 1star.

VERY ANGRY WITH THIS SCHOOL I WOULD GIVE IT 0 STARS IF I COULD! This school use to be ok when my older kids did it 3 or 4 years ago but now they suck. They're trying to be a public school. Now you have to go to mandatory online classes all morning Monday through Friday AND go to blended for half a freaking day at their school once a week, which takes me 35 minutes to drive there!! My daughter has been having problems with school but she has minor depression and is in a program for anorexia in her church and the teachers and staff are very ununderstanding and unsupportive. Recently my daughter was withdrawn for lack of communication with staff, really? Every time she may miss a class she would email her teachers explaining why, that is a form of communication! K12 has a very bad curriculum, it is confusing and difficult to understand for my daughter she has to spend ages on a lesson because they won't explain it.

An advisor called to make a meeting with me because my daughter was behind in her school work but didn't leave her extension, but I couldn't make it last minute. I called the school to cancel and reschedule and the receptionist had me on hold for 45 minutes and then the machine just hung up on me!! I called again and the receptionist took my name and number and said the advisor would call me back. She never did. Honestly I just forgot about it because my daughter managed to catch up in all of her subjects except for math a week later so I thought everything was fine. Later I found they just marked the meeting as a no call no show, they never even called me to check of on me or return my call.

Last time I got a call from a teacher was March 31, I spoke to a teacher march 29, I'm sorry when teachers aren't calling me I assume everything is fine and she was caught up or nearly caught up in her subjects except for math. and today when my daughter logged in to go to her class like she does every single damn morning she was locked out. I called to find out why and was told she was withdrawn from school. Like seriously I was not warned or threatened or anything! I called a woman who was very rude to me and told me multiple calls and emails were made and they she herself sent to letters to my home, when it is not true!!!! And she has no way to prove to me that any letters to my home have been sent! She was very rude and kept repeating the same this over and over again and did not pause to let me speak, I don't know how she talked so long without stopping to breath honestly.

School ends in less than two months and after my daughter has worked so hard to get back on track they told her to just go to another school and start the semester over when she was on track to be fully caught up in all her subjects by the end of the month, aka two weeks. She was even signed up for her midterms to take next week which she now can't take.

This is a school full of lazy and unorganized teachers and administrators who don't know how to do their job and I find it unbelievable that they're college educated. They would rather ship your kid off to another school than work with them and be supportive. Don't enroll your kid here, go to Connections or even just a public school, they both have a much better support team and a more thorough staff who know what they're doing. Withdrawing or expelling a child from school should be a last resort not a first or second!! Lazy employees...

NOT recommended Go somewhere else.
Teachers were great but very stretched thin, I’m sure they’re not paid what they’re worth.
This ‘School’ is just run by unethical entities taking advantage of government money. Your child is just a money pawn to them. It’s numbers game. More kids, more money. They claim to care about each child. WRONG. They care about the kids who make a good report thus more funding. I invite you to take a look at their physical school- I guess the dollars gets diverted elsewhere from the facilities and faculty. Shoot maybe we can open our own school, if these vultures can, anyone can. Abysmal.

Very dissatisfied with the enrollment process. This school is not flexible AT ALL. Upon the first call everyone is very kind and welcoming then the harassing phone calls begin. I submitted all documentation and received materials and lessons. The next day I prepare my students to login to find out our accounts have been locked because we need to do some in person orientation. I think it would have been courteous to tell me as the caretaker in advance that you are required to meet in person. If I wanted to sit at schools I could have done traditional schools. Then the rude lady tells me this is the last day for elementary but you can do your middle schooler at this point only. Well that is defeating the whole purpose as I don't have one child in need of an education. She then proceeds to give me one more time to come in for the very next day. No thank you. I found a much better online school that is actually online and doesn't need you to run down to the school in the middle of the work week. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Absolutely pleased with this school. My son has been a student since he was in 4th grade and is currently a member of the 3rd Jump Start College cohort. He will be graduating from high school with an Advanced Honors Diploma... as well as from college with an Associates Degree!

Every teacher and counselor he has worked with throughout the years have been incredibly supportive and encouraging! The staff is so helpful and friendly... we have ZERO complaints.

Every advisor and department head we've met in all colleges we've visited were beyond impressed with the education and guidance he received throughout high school. He's been awarded a full-ride to the University of his choice - as well as inducted as a member of an international honor society for 2-year colleges.

Because he is graduating from a dual-degree program, he will start college in the fall as a Junior and has been invited to the university's honors program.

Thank you, NVVA for the opportunities and experiences! Highly recommended!
